This was one of those really annoying games that ended up in a loss. By the numbers, we shouldn't have even been in the game, but somehow we managed to control a good portion of it. Of course, that was enough to give me some confidence, but in the end we didn't play well enough to win anyway. Well, everybody but Paul Pierce didn't. The most annoying part of the game was the rotations used by Tony Brown. Apparently he needs to be introduced to our best rebounder, Kendrick Perkins...and also reminded that Mark Blount sucks. Another question for Tony is, why do you put Justin Reed in to play power forward down the stretch? Playing him and sitting Perk was totally retarded. I can't really complain about Doc anymore because now I see who's backing him up. It's just a shame that such a great performance by Pierce was wasted away by the poor decisions of an assistant coach.
At least we don't have to wonder anymore about why they let Doc run this team. At least he has some semblance of roster usage. Tony Brown kind of needs to remember why teams win games, and boardwork is just one of those things. Doc has a good understanding of what his team needs to do well and why, but I'm giving him far too much credit. At least he isn't Tony Brown. Anybody looking forward to the day when Ainge casts off the mantle of having someone else coach his players, and just does the dirty work himself? Me neither, but that day will come.
