Im impressed with how great the Celtics are doing in the offseason, the Celtics have one of the best group of young players. Also Gomes a double-double pretty good numbers.

The Celtics look good so far, too bad they beat the Suns, what happened to Barbosa he should have done something.

No offense to the Suns intended in this writing, I have nothing but respect for that organization:

that being said, the most important stat of the night was somewhat watered down by the lack of real talent on the Suns' rookie team. That stat being: Gomes 11 REBS in 27 MINS.

There is nothing I've seen that's more encouraging than the C's adding a 3 who can crash the boards. Off the bench, as a starter, wherever, this guy is the most positive spot I've seen the rookie camp so far. The more this man plays defense and hits the boards, nevermind his 14 points, the more valuable he becomes to this organization.

Nothing will assist the development of that stud at the 4 than having someone who can back him up on the boards. If Al knows there's someone there to grab the boards he's out of position for, he's going to have more confidence, and not be afraid to take risks defensively. (Aside: now that I'm thinking of this, this is a good thing and a bad thing.) Nevermind the nagging doubts, a shot of confidence for a kid with this much talent and assertiveness in the paint can do nothing but elevate his game.

Aside from that, the TO's and POT's are otherwise the most significant numbers. This means that Doc has his kids doing just what Tommy blows his load asking of them every night (and what every high school coach knows a team must do), in a word: RUN RUN RUN.

Nice to see the C's go back to the roots of the game (and we're talking Frank Keaney's URI teams of the 20's and 30's type roots), and play some ball to make the legends proud. Danny's doing a fine job of building this team in the spittin' image of those great teams he played on, good for him.

    Again, (and again)
    IN DANNY I TRUST!

Yeah, I have to say, I have nothing but good things to say about Barbosa before this game, but he really let me down. He's not showing the heart he showed when he was competing against Yuta Tabuse last year for that spot on the roster. Here's to hoping someone comes along and wakes that fella up.
