<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Though contract offers and mere contact with free agents often are confused during this rumor-laden time of year, the result can be maddening for the organization that is attempting to gauge interest in a player. That’s where the Celtics found themselves yesterday amid reports they made an offer to free agent Corey Maggette. A team source insisted no offer was made to the former Clippers swingman, though Danny Ainge reportedly has talked to a number of players, including Maggette, as he attempts to build a pool of candidates in the event his top priority - signing James Posey - falls through.</div> Boston Herald
Celtics trying to make everyone think that they're not that interested in Maggette. Now I wonder if Posey will leave because of all this drama around Corey.

He's like the Devean George of that superstar Laker team a few years back. Posey will still get open looks and is a solid defender, he brings toughness. Like they said during the finals, Posey was fouling Lamar Odom after the whistle was blown. They lose Posey, they lose toughness. I think picking up Magz would be good, that would eliminate some of the time that they waste playing bench players. They could go big rather than playing some of the undersized guards that they had to resort to. Eddie House can keep a team in the game but he can also shoot a team out of it.

Now Imagine if both him and Corey were to sign with the Celtics, any other signings after that wouldn't even matter with those two coming from the bench.
