Found this on another forum and thought I would share it with you's <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">On the back of the thread about the two young Icelandic lads signing for Celtic & the thread about Celtic's team in 2010 I'd like to take a more in depth look at our up & coming youngters & maybe we could monitor their progress - A sticky youth thread perhaps Dakota? What do you think? For results, injuries, loans, results, league table (Reserve & Youth) etc? I keep a reasonable eye on our youth/reserve games & although I admit to not seeing many live matches first hand, thanks to Celtic TV I get to see delayed action, i.e last night I watched almost a full 90 mins of Celtic beating Hibs 3-0 in the Scottish Youth Cup @ Easter Road - Not a bad way to see the up & coming prospects play! Plus Celtic TV is trying to secure rights to the re-arranged Celtic Res-Rangers Res match. I'll list some of our most noted prospects & the positions they play & give a short view on the players I know about etc Everyone feel free to chip in :USA_Blue We'll start with the youngsters who are seen as first team squad members & take it from there - Here goes! Aiden McGeady - Still only 18 & arguably the most exciting Celtic prospect in 20 years, nuff said. David Marshall - Best goalkeeping prospect since Stewart Kerr, fantastic against Barcelona. Still only 19/20 Craig Beattie - Pace, power & goals. could improve on his first touch & is still raw but might just be the surprise package of these talents if he stays injury free Ross Wallace - Great first touch & close control, good crosser aswell but a little predictable & could be more direct. Still only 19, has a chance John Kennedy - Fantastic in the Camp Nou, destined to be a first tem regular until some crude Romanian halfed him. Bad injury but still has time, genuine prospect outwith injuries Stephen Pearson - Pace, direct running, goals etc. Again could improve some technical aspects but I rate Pearson highly. I think he compliments the touch players like McGeady very well. Stephen McManus - Not a fan I'm afraid, very slow, cumbersome & already 22. No more than a decent aquad player IMO Rocco Quinn - 18 Year old Mid/Striker. Powerful & high energy, dangerous from midfield (Best position I'd say) Already been on the bench a few times, well thought of, has a chance Michael Gardyne - 19 year old striker who is sound technically, seen as a flair player at Celtic but isn't yet a regular in the Res first team Michael McGlinchey - 18 Year old striker/winger who turned down Man U for his boyhood heroes, excellent first touch & close control but is VERY lightweight. Reminds me of a young Simon Donnelly Charlie Grant - Neil Lennons clone, I kid not, only 18. Tough tackler, sound passer, ginger hair, good player. I think he'll make it at Celtic Charlie Mulgrew - only 18/19 but is 6 ft tall, great left foot & can play in defense & midfield. If he develops at a good rate, he'll have a chance Gary Irvine - Gary is about 19/20 and can play numerous positions but most seem to think he's best at right back. Solid in every area of his game, unsung hero to a degree Michael McGovern - Goalkeeper out on loan, good but beneath Marshy in pecking order Scott Cuthbert - Can play full back but is at 17 a very talented Center Back, reasonable pace, strong in the tackle, good in the air. Impressed for Scotland VS England recently as Captain for the under 18's Darren O'Dea - 17/18 & like Cuthbert can play both full back or center back but is left footed. Irish youth internation who played 90 mins for Ireland in their 2-0 youth victory over Italy midweek Diarmuid O'Carroll - Scored for Ireland's youths VS Italy in midweek, only 17/18 & is a big strong targetman who scores goals - Rated very highly at Celtic Simon Ferry - Highly touted as the next big thing, only 17 but has already scored a couplw of goals from midfield at res level. All round midfielder, still small but Very highly rated. Big things expected of Ferry Paul Hutchison - One of two former England Schoolboy Internationls to sign for Celtic. Central defender, tall & commanding but behind Cuthbert at this time Kirk Hudson - 17 Year old former England Schoolboy International striker & easilly one of my favourite youth players. Quick, very quick with excellent movement, good touch & he can finnish. I like this kid, if he fills out I think he'll be a star for Celtic. Funnily enough, still can't get a regular game for our under 19's but he is Very Good from what i've seen. There are other but those are our main prospects I would say but add - Jacob Lensky (16 years old) Kjartan Henry Finnbogason (18) and Theodor Elmar Bjarnason (17) and the future is very bright. The three new youngsters in particular have generated a little excitement for the fans as no new signings appear imminent - Hope to see them in action real soon</div>
Seems good but i think Arsenal has the best youth team in Britain and Ajax has the best youth set-up in the workd IMO
