He still plays recreationally, but must determine if he wants to go through the physical and mental grind of an 82-game season. He also wonders how his body would respond to the intensive training it would take to get him back to NBA shape.</div></p>

 

If he can get himself into shape and he wants to that could turn out to be a very good signing.

 

This is just not smart. It's nice to add depth, but if this deal means the Celtics won't add a quality perimter defender at small forward, then I really dislike it.

 

I would love to have Miller in our team.</p>

yea they say hes gonna play 15 min but we know it might be a little more then that. and if miller wants a real shot at getting a ring i dont see why not.. Its not like he went to them sayin he wants to come back... they came to him

I don't know about this. Reggie was washed up 2 years ago. </p>

I don't see him being any more useful than an Eddie House. </p>

Charlie Bell would still be a way better choice.</p>

 

I agree with Premier that I'd rather have a defensive presence at the 3, but there isn't much out there. Reggie would be a decent addition off the bench, I'm sure we could bring him in for the veteran's minimum, and I'm sure he can still shoot the ball. If we mirco-manage him like Orlando did with Grant Hill last year, and only play him one night of each back-to-back and give him a day's rest when needed, he'd be alright.</p>

EDIT: Lanteri, Charlie Bell would be a good addition to the team, but he also is a restricted free agent. Milwaukee can match any offer, and we'd have to overpay, which I don't want to do. He'd also likely want more than a one-year deal, and I'm not sure if I see us signing anybody to a multi-year contract this summer.</p>

They must have <span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-style: italic">a lot</span> of faith in Tony Allen's ability to come back if they're considering this signing. At this point they may as well call Karl Malone since he'd probably play more quality NBA minutes than Scot Pollard next year.

We have also made an offer to Dikembe Mutombo, who declined because he doesn't want to leave Houston. We have looked into P.J. Brown, who has listed the Celtics as one of the final four teams he is considering. We have shown interest in Charlie Bell, who would be a nice addition but is restricted. Ainge publcly stated yesterday that he's looking for a point guard. Just because we haven't signed a "bigger free agent" doesn't mean we aren't trying. We still have the MLE to work with and I think we will sign another veteran... possibly two. </p>

 

This really wouldnt make any sense for the Celtics. I know Reggie wants a title, but Ainge has to do the right thing and just say NO.

I like it. He'd be a pretty nice pickup. Reggie Miller has all the little dirty gadgets, too.Speaking of Reggie, doesn't Tommy absolutely hate him? Doesn't Tommy also hate Ray Allen? Interesting.I'll still take Miller.

 

He should sign with the Knicks. With Zach and Curry in the middle, he should have lots of open shots.

Sentimentally, signing with the Knicks would be terrible. Pacers fans would kill themselves.</p>

 

Reggie's not coming back.

 

With Miller in Boston, all he would do would be shoot 3's. He would be able to defend anybody, they would always attack him when the other team were on offence. But if he did join, he would only play 15-20 MPG. IMO I would rather him stay as an announcer... </p>
