these guys appear to be tied down by the whole viin baker contract but the new owners have said they want to pull out the stops to win another championship. do they mean it? are the celtics going to start spending til they become like a dallas or a sacremento? if so who will they add?
Vin Baker's ridiculous contract was a major reason why Jim O'Brien did not approve of the trade. Basically the Celtics put all their faith in Vin Baker making a comeback. The Celtics will be tied down for at least 2 years. Right now Baker is making more money than Paul Pierce. Another concern is a lot of the Celtic's role players are in the final year of their contract: Shammond Williams Walter McCarty Bruno Sundov JR Bremer Ruben Wolkowyski Out of those 5 players only Shammond makes over 1M. Not a good situation if you are a Celtics fan.
hmm...i dont know if celtic fans are gonna miss sundov, wolkowyski shammond and walter are replaceable and Bremer will likely be signed. but the vin baker deal may put a chain on the whole frachise for years. it would be kind of a shame to see the pierce/walker celtics robbed of a championship or two in their time because of one bad trade. not nearly as bad for celtic fans as the len bias/ reggie lewis celtics who were robbed before they began by cocaine related deaths

I saw that too, but I don't know why they do it. Celts are hurting at the PG spot, and they're trading away their backup? I've noticed Bremer isn't getting many minues. Has Delk taken over the PG role or what? That would shock me.

Oh wait I got confused. I thought that the Nuggets were giving the Celtics a draft pick. Don't pay attention to my post above.

That would shock me.</div> I agree that it isnt a great trade idea but its more to do with both players not making an impact regardless and less with bostons point gaurd situation. they have JR Bremer who Ive heard from many scouts is a star on the rise. as a starter hes avergaing like 13 points a game and a good five assists. not too shabby at all. delk could start for a few teams and is a good shooter off the bench. shammond perhaps hsould go somehwere wehere he can get more playing time and get his confidence back. he has potentila to be astarter in this league with ihis moves.
