With Tony Allen now a member of the Grizzlies, the Celtics have a backup void at small forward. And according to A. Sherrod Blakely of Comcast SportsNet New England, the team has had conversations about Jarvis Hayes. As Blakely notes, Hayes likely wouldn't replace the top-notch perimeter defense Allen brought to the table, but his shooting would be welcome. Other small forwards on the team's list -- which are rated above Hayes, according to Blakely -- are Matt Barnes (who's likely a longshot), Rasual Butler, Larry Hughes and Antoine Wright. The team may also use Rasheed Wallace's dead contact to swing a trade for a small forward.
