Chad Ford was on ESPN radio tonight breaking down the draft. When asked what the Twolves were going to do at #3, he seemed convinced that the Pups were going to draft Mayo and then trade him either to the Clippers or Bucks. He said McHale is bent on getting a big body to compliment Big Al. He thinks Mayo is identical to Foye, so why draft another Foye? What“? That's what Ford said. Surprisingly, when asked if that big man was going to be Kevin Love, he said no, more than likely it will be Brook Lopez. Hmph. I know the Bucks are dangling Vilanueva and Williams. I've heard the Clips are willing to part with Kaman. It's looking inevitable that McHale is going to wheel and deal on draft day, but I still hope McHale comes to his senses and.. well... doesn't deal Mayo. Let's just hope for his sake that whatever happens, it doesn't seal fans hatred towards him. The good news for McCants fans is that this may mean he will be the starting 2 guard next season and figures into the "Let's Build It Together" campaign. ....I'm feeling ill.
A healthy Kaman would be a great addition to the team IMO. Moreso than Lopez. You know Kaman can play and is a very good rebound and a solid offensive option. If he's healthy, I'd consider that move. The only concern is he had a big year last year without Brand in the paint with him. Can he co-exist with a dominant PF?
