"lacks toughness" and "below average defender."

The good news is, he'll be above average here. If you can't beat 'em, join 'em.

This is absolutely not who we should be targeting. There are many other players in this draft his size that have a much better resume. especially on D.
    Who is Chad Ford?

Chad Ford is now dead to me.

Well, actually I've always thought he was a stiff, but this confirms it.

So at #15 we would be the worst team to make the Playoffs in the entire league. Oh joy....

This is a CP3/Deron type of draft - Dennis Smith or Fultz?

Lonzo Ball is also in that conversation.

Chad jumping on this dude for us "cuz PER" smacks a bit of laziness. I don't think anyone's saying that Chief/Harkless is a detriment to us.
And I don't think efficient scoring from our bigs is a main driver of what we're missing...

Ball is the guy people are going nuts over. Justifiably so. Dennis Smith IMO is the best PG in this draft.

TJ Leaf can flat out shoot the ball. Would he solve our defensive woes? Of course not. But Portland is in no position to draft for need. I've got the feeling that Leaf will have a long career in the NBA. He'll likely never be a star but have more of a PJ Brown type of impact. At No. 15, that's a good haul.

    Speaking of Smith Jr.

He had a triple-double tonight against a ranked Virginia Tech team.

Ball will be an Adam Morrison level bust.

TJ Leaf is intriguing for sure. Has an old school game. Brings a skill set we need.
Really have enjoyed watching him play this year.

Kid needs to hit the weight room for sure though. He's not very physical and relies primarily on great instincts on the boards and defensively (has great quick-twitch altheticism) but he's going to struggle mightly to hold his position against big traditional 4's at his current weight. (he can't be more than 215ish right now)

obviously things will change between now and draft day and a whole lot of opinions will be relayed. That said, I'm more intrigued by the forward who nbadraft.net has PDX slotted for today then Leaf... note the hometown
