Where does everyone stand on the Champions league revamp issue? Platini plans to limit the number of clubs from one country that can participate in the CL, on the one hand it would make the competition fairer for clubs from smaller nations which currently struggle to qualify and would mean that only the top 1 or 2 clubs in a league make it through which may give the competition more prestige. However we may not get to witness some of the great ties that we get currently (Barca Liverpool/ Real Bayern etc) and the gap between the top 2 of each league and the rest would grow and probably end in the premiership being less competitive in terms of the title race.

Personally although in theory it would be good to see the old champions league come back so just the champions fought it out, I think its best to stick with the current format as going back to the old format would mean the premiership would suffer and the some of the great ties we have at the moment would not have happened if 3rd and 4th in major leagues didn't qualify.

I think Platini will face too much opposition to reduce the number of teams from the top leagues. He's just been on after the 1/4 final draw and is very begrudging to the english teams. As I said in another thread Platini hates the english and is worried about our league dominating again
I know Everton were pathetic last year in the CL but at least they got a chance and I think 4th in the EPL is stronger than say 2nd in Finland etc.I know Everton are (quote Rafa) a small club but they are probably bigger than 2nd in Latvia (just) .
