"I'm hoping for a miracle, really." MacCulloch has Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease, a genetic disorder that disrupts his balance and causes problems with his feet. MacCulloch had surgery in January on his left foot to free a crushed nerve, leaving him hopeful of a recovery and perhaps a similar procedure on his right foot. "They said give it six months and I've done that and it hasn't really helped," said MacCulloch, who last played Feb. 2, 2003. "The summer hasn't been all that healing." "I'm not anywhere near feeling like I can go through training camp," he said. "The whole thing has been extremely difficult. The thought of another year without playing has been extremely difficult. He can barely walk at times. I think he could have have became a solid center, with averages of 15 and 10 maybe.
I feel bad for Mac but i dont see him returning anytime soon...when will his contract be up?? but i hope he gets better
His contract is up next season along with Glenn's. That will be a good time to lose two contracts and free up more cap space.
poor Machullah (off-topic) nice avator sash Yeh i saw mac as having alot of potential. he has very soft hands around the basketfor abig giant. I think his only problem was defense. but i'f i'm not mistaken i think he was a rook when trhe sixers went to the playoffs i always looked at him as being in the l even though i really got into basketball watching Iverson perfrom that year. but thats another story. Well i have a true belief in everything happens for a reason in which i'm saying i feeel god has something els for machullah And i also live by daily knowing god will never give me more than i can handle. So i believe Mac will be ok a s a person and maybe ball is not for him.
I hope he returns healthy soon and it does work out for him. He is a solid big man in the nba and would help the sixers out big time along with giving some advice to dalembert and helping them on the boards since they were close to the bottom of the league in that catigory last year.
