LinkChandler played his best season in 2007 and really proved he can be an All-Star center. I don't think he's going to be as tired out as most of the players were last summer because he's had plenty of rest and he's motivated to make the team. Congrats Tyson!!
Yeah, that is good that he made it but personally I dont think he should have. I really do like Chandler but his game is limited to rebounding and shot blocking. And there is already Oden and other players who are the same as him, maybe better. Nevertheless, I guess congrats to Tyson.
I don't understand this selection at all. Tyson Chandler does nothing other than rebound the ball. He's useless on offense, is only an average defender, a good but not amazing shotblocker, he can't shoot, he's not a big charactor guy. Ugh, it's no wonder we lose internationally.
Part of the reason they want him there is to push Oden so that he'll do better. Other than that, Chandler is just there for defense and rebounding, nothing more. I'm sorry to say his offensive game is still limited.

Considering the players on that roster, they don't need Chandler of all the players there to push him....

I'm just happy he gets the chance to make the team.
Because, they are putting together a TEAM. Not just a bunch of great individual players. This is going to be a team full of players the complment eachother. Tyson is a phenominal defender and rebounder. He is a great selection IMO.

I think you can find a player thats a very good rebounder that brings a lot more to the table than Tyson Chandler.
This Tyson will be a great addition. He will play his role really well especially with a good coach like Coach K calling the shots. If only Nash were American lol. I can't wait to see Kobe lead this team to a gold Medal something D-Wade couldnt do and something Bron failed to do without him.
I don't see what's so bad about it, it's not like he is automatically on the team. He has to compete for his roster spot in a July summer camp, it's not like he just gets to come in and be on the team. If he plays well enough in that camp, they are going to let him on the team. He is a good defensive player, holds the paint down really well, will provide many extra oppurtunities, can run up and down the court well for a big man. He could end up producing at the International game pretty well I think. We will just have to wait and see.
Props to him; it was well-deserved. He did his business this season, pretty much leading the league in rebounding, and I think his height and long arms will be an asset to Team USA on the international stage. Think about it- In '04 they didn't have much height and post game at all; Duncan was running the center and Lamar Odom and Shawn Marion shared the PF (neither are spectacular in the post). Chandler can be their defender-rebounder if he makes it.
