Starts at 32:15. Parsons says he was excited and was all-in on coming to Portland. He was ready to sign but Portland wanted a physical. He was coming off knee surgery and his agent Dan Fegan told him to take the Memphis deal because there was no way he would pass the Portland physical.
Seriously Memphis signed him for 94M without physical? lol I guess they deserved to pay that amount for 7 points per game.
Portland dodged the Parsons bullet. Of course, that left them flat-footed when the Turner, Crabbe, Meyers, and Ezeli bullets slammed home fucking olshey
Crabbe, Meyers, and Harkless would've gotten the same contracts whether we signed Parsons or not. So it's really just Parsons vs ET and Ezeli, which is still bad.
Crazy that Turner might actually have turned out to be the better deal. But at the time there was hope Parsons could get more healthy. If so he was clearly the superior player, Turner was coming off a 2 million contract or something. So at the time even with more injury info I'd say the Turner deal was still worse.
