Well, that was great.

Sunday night football. Rocking Qualcomm Stadium. Trouncing the New England Patriots.

And then ...

“The dust settles and we come in here today and we are 3-3,” Philip Rivers said Monday. “That's where we are, and we have a long way to go.”

A victory over the Patriots can only go so far, they know, but it can't hurt.

“Certainly there are plays in games and types of wins that can kick-start you and get you on a roll,” Rivers said. “And hopefully that was the one yesterday, there are some plays in that game that can cause you to go on a little spurt.”

The Chargers will have to do so in another 10 a.m. (PDT) game in the East against a team coming off a bye.

“It's amazing, all these teams have byes and also us playing them early coming from the West Coast,” LaDainian Tomlinson said.

Back to .500 again, yet to be above that this season, the Chargers prepare this week not only for another game in the Eastern time zone but for the trip to London immediately after Sunday's game against the Buffalo Bills.

There is not only football to prepare for this week but a long trip, meaning packing and planning.

“You have to really be focused on what's ahead of you, particularly the time you have to do things,” Tomlinson said. “We know this is a normal week, and then we're traveling to Buffalo. Then it gets tricky. Our preparation has to remain the same. The focus has to be on winning and not really enjoying being in London and all the things that go along with that. It's everyone else's show. We're there to win a game.”

Head coach Norv Turner would not commit to the return of outside linebacker Jyles Tucker or receiver Chris Chambers, but it has been believed since last week that both would return to face the Bills.

Turner said Luis Castillo has “a little bit of a bicep strain,” Darren Sproles has a sprained ankle and Eric Weddle a strained shoulder.

“Right now I would not expect any of that to keep any of those guys from missing (Sunday's game),” Turner said.

Receiver Buster Davis, who was to have started and played a significant amount against the Patriots, was unable to play with a strained groin. He is “day to day” and is not to the point where he can counted on in any week.

Tomlinson said Sunday was the best he has felt since injuring his toe in the season opener.

“I've said all along it's getting better,” he said. “The great thing about it is it never was getting worse.”

Turner also said he was pleased with the Chargers being more physical and winning the battle on both lines.

Playing well at the start and mostly well throughout pleased the coach.

“We've been talking about playing a more complete game,” Turner said. “We're not where we want to be, but we did better. We just need to keep growing and getting better.”

Turner, just as he and others did Sunday night, credited the kick teams with setting the tempo.

“The teams that have been there at the end are the teams that are the most complete teams,” Turner said. “We're trying to become the most complete team we can. Our special teams jump-started us.”

I love the mentality of this team. It starts with Rivers. He knows that our backs are still against the wall and we've got two very tough games coming up. We need to come out and win those and get to 5-3 going into our Bye Week. Our backs are against the wall, and that is when we play our best football.

Chargers have some very nice momentum, the Broncos should be pretty worried. Your offense looks quite complete with everyone healthy.

Denver is going to fall off, their defense has looked pretty damn bad so far and Cutler still makes a lot of mistakes.

Broncos can score in a hurry. But they can't stop teams. Chargers can do both. Chargers donkey punch the Donkeys.
