So I have noticed this about(and ex) NBA players. When they get pulled over for drunk driving, they submit to Blood Test but not breathalyzer. Then I thought about it, and here is why they do it: If you don't submit to the test, you are automatically found guilty in most states. But, if you submit to a blood test, they can't. Here is the thing though. Officers don't carry the stuff for blood test with them. That means they have to take you to a hospital and get the test done, which may take, say an hour plus to get there and get it set up. During that time your body processes liquor and reduces your blood alchohol level. Very smart move.
A smarter move would be to not drink and drive. Christ, he's Charles Barkley and he can't afford a taxi, or better still a limo to take him out on the town? If he's out drinking and gets behind the wheel and kills himself, or worse, somebody else, he won't look so smart. BNM
Actually the group that is smart, is the NBA lawyers who train the players to respond that way, not Barkley. He just remembered what to do because he was trained by the NBA to respond that way. The driving under the influence is definitly stupid.
Yep, and when you're as rich as Barkley and can afford to piss away millions on gambling, completely unnecessary. Hire a limo, or at least call a cab. Not only is he endangering himself and others when he gets behind the wheel impaired, he's also setting himself up as a target for an expensive lawsuit is he injures someone while driving impaired. BNM
everybody knows that trick i thought, although i dont drink and drive so i dont have to worry about it. i do drink and walk though. sometimes crawl. i do have a car though, just dont trust myself to stop if i run someone over. barkley is a ego maniac, he needed to be knocked down a peg.
No, I didn't, but no matter how smart it is to refuse the breathanalyzer test, it's still dumb to drink and get behind the wheel.
