    Apparently Oakley has interest in playing for Houston...

    =============================
    JUST VISITING: Tyson Chandler left a ticket for Charles Oakley to attend the game, and Oakley said he expects to be back in the NBA within the next two weeks. The Toronto Raptors reportedly are interested in signing Oakley, who said he hopes the Houston Rockets and Los Angeles Lakers also are possibilities.
    ==============================

    I think he's be a great veteran fit, and I see it working very well if a deal involving Cato and/or Mobley evolves. Yesterday, ESPN had a interesting statement when they said the Rockets needed somebody with fire and intensity in the locker room who challenged teammates. Even if he's signed for the minimum just to advise the younger posts (Taylor/Cato), then I think it would be well worth it.

    Yes, here in Toronto the talks are about signing Oakley. Both the GM and coach of the Raptors are in favor of signing him. However, Charles seems to want to join a team with playoff aspirations and the Rockets might fit. He'd be a great addition for us. Hope we get him.

    I really do not see why he would want to sign with Houston considering he would get hardly any PT. Lets face it the Rockets have a 3 big man rotation and use a 4th when they get in foul trouble. Ming, Cato, and Taylor are pretty much "locks" for that rotation. That leaves as of right now Padgett(4th) and Weatherspoon(bench). Now if we add Oakley to the mix that would most likely bring Padgett to the bench depending on the type of shape Oakley is in.

    They could just sign him to have a presence. I mean Oakley is one tough man and he would be great to have in practice doing nothing put pushing Yao around and pissing him off.

    I wouldn't sign Oakley for anything more than the minimum.

    I totally agree, why sign a worn out defender on an already established defensive team? I'd rather get snow from the Sixers for sure. Go back to Toronto Oakley, VC needs you.

    We don't need snow. We have three solid point guards in Wilks, Jackson, and Francis.
