Batch, who backs up Ben Roethlisberger, was hit awkwardly by Eagles strong safety Sean Considine after missing a handoff. He gained six yards on the scramble to the Eagles 14. Batch remained in the game for one more play, leaving with about six minutes remaining in the second quarter. Dennis Dixon, a rookie out of Oregon, came in to replace him. The 6-2, 216-pound Batch is in his 11th year out of Eastern Michigan. Also on the Pittsburgh roster at quarterback is Mike Potts, a rookie out of William & Mary.
