Not yet. 9 games ain't enough. And he's really only had 2 and a 1/2 good games, which is not enough. Talented? Yes, but he's got a very long way to go.

he needs to keep up the good work and win the ROY, now then he can run it in the ESPN's faces...

I think Villanueva is a promising player, he is a big dude with athleticsm but he seems fundamentally sound to and he can hit the outside jumper. Everyone critisized the Raptors for picking him at the number seven pick, but so far it actually looks like its going to turn out to be a good choice.

He had 2 great games IMO, not good games. He has been very consistent rebounding, shooting, and scoring the ball, and that's what you hope for when you have a rookie or young player getting heavy minutes. Rebounding and defense needs improvement, but that will come with more experience.

He's had 2 great games, and been consistent so far. How is that not enough? We shouldn't be expecting him to be a regular 15/8 guy yet.

I think Chris Paul and his 17 PPG | 5.3 RPG | 6.1 APG | 2.1 SPG + getting to play close to 40 MPG has that in the bag.

Not at least, he will get All-Rookie first team, his minutes aren't going to decrease, so he can at least keep up 11-12 points and 5-6 rebounds, and will likely do better.

The most hilarious part of that article:

""If it's not broke, why mess with it?" Mitchell said. "Charlie's doing well, he gives us energy coming off the bench. He gives us a lift. If I start him and we start off slow, who do we got to go to give us that lift? That's kind of the problem. The main thing with Charlie is make sure he gets the minutes he (needs). He is getting more than enough minutes." "

-- they haven't won a game. It is broke.

Paul is the only rookie i believe to be getting those huge minutes.. thats why he's probably going to get Rookie of the year unless most probable... he's going to hit that rookie wall and just drop off..

I think he's reffering to Charlie and the scoring and energy they get out of him...Just read the next part. He's coming off the bench and doing well. The Raptors defense is the big problem. Adding Villanueva to the starting lineup won't help.

    PAPE!

i see what mitchell is trying to do with villanueva... like skiles in chicago, trying to bring gordon off the bench as the 6th man to help them in scoring, lift off the bench, etc... i mean if he keeps his study play, im pretty sure his stats would be higher than paul in terms pts and rebs... but the only drawback at this point the league is going to look at who made a bigger impact as well... we're still winless...
