    has anyone hear about him turning into an assistant coach? in the papper they just say they waived him... nothing about coaching??? [​IMG]

    He retired and is gonna be an assistant coach for the Rockets.

    i didn't realy meant by that... but i'm just asking why aren't there any thing about charlie turning into an assistant coach anymore.. it used to be on the paper and now its not....sorry if i made u confused

    I guess it's a standard procedure for a club. If they want to transform a player under contract into an assistant coach, they would have to terminate the previous contract first then sign that player to a contract as a coach. The process could take days to complete, so nothing official has been said yet.

    he is already an assistant coach and the press release was just to acknowledge that he had been waived and leaves open a roster spot...I doubt that his appointment as assistant coach will be made public because its not as significant as a waiver transaction...
