It is about time...Charmin was not a good personnel guy. His drafts were horrible and his free agent pick ups were worse. As a Packer fan, don't get me wrong, I do not like losing to the Vikes - but if this was the result of another quick exit from the playoffs - I can live with that game. As far as the fans with their teams in the NFC North, I would consider this to be a sad day. (Here me out here before the roasts come in from Vikings, Bears and Detroit Fans) - Not that I think that Thompson is going to put together a powerhouse in two or three years, but the talent coming into GB via the draft should be able to replace Ron Wolf's picks. The last four years, you could count on Charmin drafting some spanks that couldn't the 53 man roster for UW-Whitewater. NFC North prediction for 05-06 season. If Detroit cuts Harrington - watch out. This team is just consistent play from the QB position from being a very dominate team.
I think Sherman would have been fine if he were JUST a GM. I think he'll be fine as JUST a coach. As both, however, he was average at both positions. Harlan made the right move... Sherman needs to focus on coaching. I don't know if anyone in the NFL has ever been great at being both Coach and GM. It's just too much work... (and stress and time, etc.)
If the Pack want to get back to winning December's and January's, they need to hire Ray Rhodes again. LOL
