And he should be. The team is horrible without McDyess what do they want him to do?

I hate to say it, but my fellow Knicks fans know that Chaney shouldn't be coaching this team. He is a lame duck coach that the media is going to have for lunch while the Knicks continue to lose. If the Knick management is at all serious about competing (which some of you have seem to bought) they would fire this guy and bring someone in the players will respond to.

What happened in Cleveland is disgusting. The Cavs beat the Knicks to every lose ball, and the Knicks played the most pitiful defense I've seen in a while. Defense is 90% effort, and they gave little. But then, why should they when there's no accountability?

I know Chaney did better in other situations, but he really doesn't have what it takes to motivate this group of players. He really can't hold them accountable and it's clear they don't respect him. To be a coach in the NBA, particularly in New York, you have to know the x's and o's AND motivate the players. One or the other won't do. I know this problem is really the fault of management, but they aren't going anywhere.

Not really, look at the talent that the Knicks have compared to the Cavs. No one really expected the Knicks to do well this season at all, heck, they are getting great play out of Houston and unexpected solid play out of Van Horn, and they still can't win. Props to Ward as well.

By the way, McDyess was last seen on a milk carton in Denver.

The disgusting part is that there was no effort, not just the fact that they lost. Lack of talent is just part of the problem. History has shown that talent alone doesn't get it. I'm not saying the Knicks are talented, by any stretch, but how can you expect to win, or at least not look as bad as they did, without some effort on defense? The Knicks should still be able to beat the Cavs who are still a group of boys, with some effort. I can deal with them losing a game because they aren't good enough. But to lose like that because they were lazy is inexcusable. Did you watch the game? If you did, you should know that talent had little to do with why they got blown.

Chaney needs to go. Now! I've felt he has been a terrible fit since he took over when Van Gundy resigned. This team needs a coach that is going to but fear into them and give them direction. Their play against Cleveland is inexcusible. Neither team has all the talent in the world but the Knicks made Cleveland look like the Lakers. It was pathetic and saddening to watch as a Knicks fan. Rooting for teams owned by James Dolan is like rooting for teams owned by the devil. Both the Knicks and Rangers are run by complete morons and coached by complete morons.

    Finally, a voice of reason.

What's even worse is those have been the same words I've been muttering for TWO years now. Nothing has changed.

Back-to-back years Layden makes lousy trades. In 2002 he traded Nene Hilario and whatever else to the Nuggets for McDyess and Williams. Dice has played all of 5 games for the Knicks and Williams has the warmest seat on the bench since he really needs to get out of it. This year he trades Spreewell to get Van Horn which hasn't looked like a horrid move yet but if Van Horn still dropping nearly a 20 per game in February I'll change my tune.

Things at least are getting better for the Rangers. The Rangers actually look like a play off team so far this season.

The Knicks are only getting worse. Does the team need to go 0-82 and only fill half the garden to get Dolan to notice. Does he even care?
