Louisville's biggest win came over Chicago State. And how can you not rank an undefeated Tennessee team who wiped the floor with a Texas team who was ranked in the top 10? BSpn(property of Voodoo) flat out sucks.
GW is horrible at defense... they have two athletic kids but I'm not entirely sold on them. Louisville stayed ranked as high as they are based on what the voters see as high talent. I've said it before but the thing that seems absurd to me this year is looking at the top 3, and then looking at #4. What a HUGE drop off, in my opinion. Ranked too high: Texas, Maryland, North Carolina, Kentucky Ranked too low: You're right, where's Tennessee? Where's Michigan? - yeah, I know they just lost, but that makes them a one loss team. Hey... did Iowa drop from #23 out of the poll after going 1-0 this week? Yes, they did. And OSU: I'd bump them up a couple spots, seeing as they're undefeated with two pretty good away wins and a home win over VT.
Gators are in the Top 5! They tied the best start in school history! If the Gators can beat a quick Miami team in Miami on Thursday, I think the Gators could go 17-0. Miami is the type of team that bothers us like crazy. They beat us last year with their 3 guard lineup and that's what Nova used to knock us out of the tourney last year.
Nice to see the Illini move up to number 6. They are slowly working their way up to the top five. Hopefully, they continue to win and over take the number one ranking.

They would have lost that game, probably in blowout fashion, if it wasn't for their defense. They couldn't get anything to fall on offense, even with plenty of open looks. In fact, they only shot 38.5% from the field compared to Maryland's 45.3%, yet they were in the lead for most of the game. As for their athletic players, I'm pretty sure you're talking about Pops Mensah-Bonsu and Danilo Pinnock, but don't forget about Regis Koundjia. Out of high school, some very credible sources had ranked him as a top five recruit, and he's a freak athletically. It seems like I read something new on him every day, but the latest article I've read about him says that he'll be eligible to play on December 30th against North Carolina St. after sitting out as a transfer student. Also, while Mike Hall may be one of the least athletic players to play the game, he's also one of the smarest, and from what I've seen, very comparable to a shorter Tim Duncan. I really think that he'll make an NBA roster, and he'll probably have a more stable professional career than Mensah-Bonsu. A lot of people give me hell for this, but I consider George Washington a top five team right now, and they'll especially be dangerous when Koundjia joins the team. It's not so much a credit to them though as it is a statement of how mediocre the other teams outside of the top three are, like you pointed out. I feel like Gonzaga and Michigan State are in the same class as those top three though, but teams like Florida and Louisville will be ranked over them for a while because of their schedules.
I'm starting to wonder if the coaches who vote in these polls are qualified to make decisions on the rankings. I can't imagine them spending hours researching all the games that were played during the week. They barely have enough time to prepare for their next game, let alone figure out how everyone else is doing around the NCAA.
Illinois, excuse me for saying this, but should not be anywhere near what BSPN has them ranked as. Sure they beat North Carolina, who is one of the most overrated teams of all time. Yes I said it, this North Carolina team is so overrated they shouldn't deserve to even be in top 25 discussions. Anyone who has this team ranked this high really should actually watch a North Carolina game this season. To me the team looks like a bunch of confused freshman that are just riding high on confidence and waiting to be swat down by ACC powerhouses. For the record I did rank them in my Top 25 poll and that would be because im 110% biased Anyway back to Illinois, the only impressive win I see on their schedule would be going to Oregon and completely blowing them out, other than that they are against subpar teams such as Wichita State, who I might add only lost to Illinois by one...

I know that they're probably ranked higher than they should be, but I'm not going to question them, nor Washington for that matter, because they're an undefeated team that brought back a lot of players from a roster from an amazingly talented team last season, and experience will win you ball games. As for quality wins, what about Georgetown? They may not be ranked, but they look like a really good candidate for the NCAA Tournament. The same could be said for their wins over Xavier and Oregon. Their win over Wichita State is a lot better than you think too. The Shockers' only other loss on the season has come against a very solid Michigan State team on the road. They've got a talented enough roster with Paul Miller and PJ Couisnard to win the MVC. The Tarheels may be overrated, but no matter how you slice it, that game was another quality win for the Illini. I think their schedule has been a lot harder than Florida's or Louisville's. If I'd be complaining about any teams, it'd be them.
