<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> PHILADELPHIA ? Maurice Cheeks got his dream job. Allen Iverson has the coach he always wanted. Cheeks and Iverson were reunited in Philadelphia on Tuesday, a day after the 76ers fired Jim O'Brien and replaced him with Cheeks, one of the most popular players in franchise history. "I'm excited about being here. It's a place I've always loved," Cheeks said at a news conference held in the Wachovia Spectrum, where he starred for 11 seasons with the Sixers from 1978-89. "It's a special feeling. It's something I almost can't believe." Iverson, the perennial All-Star guard, joked he was so elated Cheeks was hired he wanted to kiss him on the mouth. The two formed a close relationship when Cheeks was an assistant coach with the Sixers. "A lot of times, you think things like this are too good to be true," Iverson said.</div> Source Basically whats above is the usual "new coach" talk so we're just going to have to see what happens. I swear I heard that same type of article talking about when O'Brien and Iverson first got together saying how happy they were. Still, I'm pretty pumped for next season considering everyone's happy now and it definitely helps the free agent problem that we are facing.

Nothing to get worked up about here? What were you expecting anyways? I'm sure you wouldn't hear Iverson say he wants Cheeks out, so like said all we can do is wait and see what happens. Honestly, I hope they don't get too reacquainted with one another because that will only hurt they're mindset as far as working on a professional level. If you're friends with a guy and you're always talking and laughing with one another you won't take him that serious as the coach. You will feel like as if he?s your friend and that you can get away with certain things things. So hopefully they're relationship with one another won't get to the point where Iverson will come late or even miss a practice and expecting to get away with it.
The reason Iverson is so estatic is because they already had a very tight replationship while Mo was an assistant coach in Philly, it's not the same thing as it was with O'Brien.
