Who else thinks chelsea win a lot of their games before they even kick a ball? It seems to me that Jose's mind games make teams moe scared of teams than they really need to be and so make them feel like they are fighting a losing battle before they even start. The fact that Jose doesn't even seem to be paying attention to anyone except United at the moment could suggest to some teams that he's looking past them as if they didn't matter. You can hardly say chelsea's performances on the pitch have been enough to strike fear into their opponents, every win seems to be a real scrap reliant on moments of brilliance from players such as essien and drogba. Can they continue to rely on this or will their "luck" run out?
I dissagree that its mind games by chelsea. Teams are scared of chelsea because they are a bloody good team. in addition they have a manager who can change personnel and tactics during a game, and change the course of the game. They hadnt beaten everton before kick off had they ? in fact they were looking like a beaten team, but showed great team spirit and character to come back and win a game they could have lost. The utd players had to follow that on sunday and couldnt. That is the size of the challenge facing man utd if they want to win the league this season.
its wrong to say that lady luck is always on Chelsea fc side. Just look at the number of time they have hit the post. those shots could have easily gone in and that would have taken them above man utd. Chelsea have done well, because of their fighting spirit and their coach
They certainly have that winning mentality that you need to, er, win games. It took 2 wonder strikes to despatch Everton, just as it took another Drogba wonder goal to claim all three points against Liverpool earlier in the season. Mind games? JM has shown that he's not averse to deflecting publicity away from his team - I read somehwere that he had a degree in Psychology. Maybe other Prem managers should take note that if they want to compete at the highest level, then it's not just what happens ON the pitch that can ultimately affect results in the modern game.
