<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Despite how the game has been played by the state's Division I schools in the past week, polls show basketball is still Kansas' most popular sport.... ? Kirk Hinrich showed up at Kansas' game against Iowa State on Saturday and he looked the same as always. Like a guy who would get swallowed alive by the bigger, faster players in the NBA. But, then, Hinrich is making a habit of proving people wrong. They said he couldn't play at KU, too. The 6-foot-2 Hinrich not only is playing in the NBA; he's prospering. Led by Hinrich, the Chicago Bulls are 26-14 since an 0-9 start and if the season ended today they would be the No. 6 seed in the Eastern Conference playoffs. He averages 15.9 points and is 10th in the league with 6.9 assists. He has started all 49 games and played an average of 37 minutes. He goes and goes and goes, just like he did at Kansas. Last season, his first, Hinrich was named to the NBA's All-Rookie team with LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh. He belongs. "Chicago is a blue-collar city and the people there appreciate hard work," Hinrich said. Chicago was made for players like Hinrich.</div> Source
