Down 2-0. Crap! The way we hit that might be it. Getting shutout by crapball taillon and his 7.00 era!
There's really nothing new to say after this loss. Hal is clueless and doesn't have the sense to first and foremost fire Brian Cashman. I posted something a while back along the lines of this team wasn't good enough last season. It was a roster that needed offensive help after for the most part being carried by Judge and an all world season. What did Cashman to improve the offense? Signed a starting pitcher in Rodon but brought back the likes of Hicks and Donaldson. One they did the right thing and dumped while the other continues to carry a .140 average into the lineup. Then there's Stanton who is offering no production at the salary of what could be two or three solid players. Stanton is batting below .200, DJ is at .219 and Rizzo hit .173 in June and so far is at .150 in July. The team as a whole has the lowest OBP in baseball since June 1st. Even with Judge this wouldn't get it done. It's shocking they're not below .500 and frankly I see this team not making the playoffs. There would have to be a massive turn around because the current record is deceiving.
You're right, this team is lucky to be above .500 and sooner or later Boone and Cashman have to be held accountable...on the bright side, Rodon didn't pitch badly and Kahnle still hasn't been scored upon this year.
