<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Option B is said to be Indiana's Jermaine O'Neal. But sources say O'Neal already has told the Pacers he wants to be traded to the Knicks and former Pacers coach and close friend Isiah Thomas. Would the Pacers take Stephon Marbury or maybe a package with Steve Francis, Jared Jeffries and Channing Frye and the Bulls' first-round pick, which the Knicks own in the swap?</div>Interesting....

They would more than likely be a playoff team next year with Jermaine though. So yes, their cap situation is utterly disgusting, and half the players on the team have a me-first attitude (although it has improved, I can't deny that), but they do have talent. They could make the playoffs with a star like Jermaine. With that said, I don't know how true this stuff is. Of course, there will be a report in a day or two with quotes from Jermaine/Bird/Walsh saying that all of this is a ridiculous made up rumor.. so we'll just have to wait and see. New York thinks that they are going to get every star, so I'm not even going to put much stock into this right now.

IMO, this would benefit both teams. I think you send Curry over to the Pacers though, and send Francis with him with a pick and maybe Frye or something. Then you have a very good lineup of Marbury-Crawford-Richardson-Lee-O'neal.

He was a mentor to him and pretty much was responsible for turning him into an all-star and one of the best power forwards (when healthy) in the NBA. I don't think it's that far fetched. I'm not saying it's a lock to happen but I don't think this is just another crazy New York Knick rumor.

This article is all speculation...there is no reason to believe he wants to be a Knick from reading this. It seems like some writer at the Chicago Tribune though about how Isiah Thomas used to coach JO and thought, what the hell, let's make a story on it. They give no evidence or clue to who the 'sources' are....it could be the guy that sells nachos at Madison Square Garden for all we know. Even the possible deal mentioned says "Would the Pacers do this...?" As in this is all speculation.EDIT: Just like what CB32 said.

If the Pacers did this they better get a young player like David Lee or Channing Frye or Mardy Collins. If they do this could be a very good trade.

Also, maybe Indiana could be tired of Tinsely's injuries and off court antics. If they could get a Marbury + Frye I could see this deal happening.

It's not so much Marbury wants to leave, it's O'Neal supposively said he'd like to be in NY. Also, Indiana has been making a slow digression. Jackson/Harrington weren't working out and now they have two overpaid weaklings in Troy Murphy/Dunleavy. If I were O'Neal I would be frustrated there.

And I think that JO is not frustrated with anyone on the team, just luck, and the front office. I'm sure JO would be fine building a team around him, Murphy, and Dunleavy as long as the team is good.

Him and Lee would be the Twin Towers down low. I think if they dump some of their gaurds and pickup oneal, itll be isiah's best move ever. It really rounds out the team well.PG: Francis/MarburySG: Marbury/FrancisSF: Quentin RIchardson/Nate RobinsonPF: Oneal/balkman/leeC: lee/oneal/Fryesomething like that, dump off some big contracts, pickup oneal, playoffs right there.

And wtf is Nate Robinson doing at SF?

Even if we were to rebuild I'd like to keep both players. Of course JO isn't going to come out and ask for a trade but that doesn't mean he'll be traded. He only said he didn't ask for one.

They are soft defenders who consistently get overpowered. They can shoot the lights out when their hot, I'll give you that. But overall, the Pacers are a mess and if you think O'Neal is happy about having Dunleavy/Troy Muphy as 2nd/3rd options you're deifnately mistaken. Nobody in the league wants Murphy/Dunleavy because of their production with consideration of their contracts.
