I found this table in an article showing the difference in how our defense has done in the first 2 games this year versus the last 2. I hope that is a sign of things to come. (Jeesh! I could use a little optimism right about now.) What do you guys think. A good sign? Or do 2 games not provide enough information to predict a trend?
I would say that it is a good sign, but not necessarily a trend. Often one bad game can put a defense back into old habits. I would be encouraged, though. The first two games of a season with a relatively new defense, you should expect some problems.
I know all about the calibur of offenses we were facing. I was thinking along Vikingfan's lines though. Cunninham installed a new scheme (and a new starting MLB due to injury) and maybe (Please God?) they are starting to come together. I will be dissappointed if we don't win the next two against Jacsonville and Atlanta. I think both are pretenders at this point.
KC looked so much better on both sides of the ball against Baltimore. I was starting to become concerned that KC just wasn't going to get it going. But I think they'll be fine. Heck they might even have some momentum now and win some big games.
