Seems kind of odd, though. The guy led the NFL in sacks and is only in his fourth year... Even for a rebuilding team, that's certainly young enough to be a core guy for the future.

Then again, the Chiefs are asking for a 1st and a 2nd rounder for him, so maybe it will work out okay.

It's hard to argue with the title "NFL sack leader". That implies that he is among the elite players in the league. The Chiefs can just replace him with Gholston at #5 and get an extra day 1 pick out of all this. However, as much as we believe Gholston will succeed at the NFL level, he still has yet to prove anything on an NFL field. I am in favor of the Chiefs trading away what is arguably the best player on their team - rolling the dice that someone will fill his shoes and not miss a beat. In fact, I hope they line up 11 guys on defense that are all rookies. Dumbing down their team is only going to help the rest of the AFC West.

Well, I did hate to see Jared go, but I think the extra picks will make the re-building process a little faster. I agree that it seemed nuts to trade a stud DE for an unproven rookie on the D-line, but we have been looking for a DT forever. Maybe this will be our Hershell Walker trade. Funny how those always involve Minnesota, huh? I wish Jared luck, but I wish the Chiefs more luck.

Hey KC, good to see you!

I was surprised that Oakland didn't grab Dorsey for exaclty the same reason. I really wanted line help on D, but I guess they think we are good for camp with the new free agents we picked up. Kiffin really pulled one over on me. I was sure we wouldn't take the guy that everyone thought we would.
