Chiefs To Work Out Everette Brown

Versatile Florida State defensive end-outside linebacker NFL draft prospect Everette Brown is scheduled for a private workout with the Kansas City Chiefs on Thursday, according to Adam Caplan of Scout.com.

Brown registered 13 1/2 sacks and 21 1/2 tackles for losses last season for the Seminoles. At nearly 6-foot-2 and 256 pounds, Brown has 4.66 speed in the 40-yard dash.

At the NFL Scouting Combine, Brown bench pressed 225 pounds 26 times and posted a 31 1/2 inch vertical leap. At his Pro Day, he improved upon those numbers with 29 repetitions in the bench press test and turned in a 34-inch vertical leap.

The Chiefs, who own the third overall pick in the draft, are in dire need of a boost to their pass rush. They have been concentrating on defense during their predraft visits or workouts.

Caplan reports that the Chiefs have either conducted visits or workouts with Wake Forest linebacker Aaron Curry, Cincinnatti defensive end Connor Barwin, Utah’s Paul Kruger and San Jose State defensive lineman Jarron Gilbert.
