The game will be shown on CCTV-5 at 9:30 pacific time. It is an elimination game for China as it will give China a tied record (2-3) with Slovenia AND THE TIE BREAKER if they happen to win. Here are some pregame statistics to think about. <u>China's record: 1-3</u> Player to look out for : Yao Ming With Yao averaging 26.5 points per game along with 9 rebs and 1.8ast and 2 blocks a game, I doubt China will have problems in the fron court. - Wang Zhi Zhi has also been good help as of late. Shooting 6-12 from the field (including 3-6 from downtown) and 4-4 form the FT line to finish with 19 points against Senegal. <u>Slovenia's record: 2-2</u> Player to look out for: Slovenia has a few NBA players. They have an all around, decent team to say the least. The core of there NBA talents include: Primoz Brezec (Charlotte Bobcats) , Bostjan Nachbar (New Jersey Nets), Uros Slokar (Toronto Raptors), Beno Udrih (San Antonio Spurs) and there main player, who also creates today's marquee matchup is Radoslav Markis Nesterovic. Nesterovic is average 11.8 pts per game, 7 rebs and 1.5 ast. He is a decent but expericed NBA center. After winning a championship with the Spurs, expect him to play smart against Yao. In the long run, Yao should dominate this match-up. Do expect, however, Nesterovic will play smart and maybe even draw some offensive fouls. Enjoy the game. GO CHINA
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Umair15:</div><div class="quote_post">Cctv??</div> You don't have it. It's a Chinese sports channel. I'll have to wait till tomorrow for the game to come on Raptors TV.
Yea CCTV-5 is the primary sports station in China. It has shown quite a few FIBA games already. I guess if you dont have it, like Locke said, you can watch it on NBA TV. I believe you can also follow the game live at the official FIBA website if you wish to do so.
If anyone wants to watch the game live, there are many different programs available. I use TVKoo because you don't need to install anything.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Umair15:</div><div class="quote_post">thanks! When I went there. it said Install and you said you dont have to install </div> I don't know where you see it saying that you need to install, but all you have to do is download the file, which is a video player. I would put that player in a folder of it's own because it creates two files when you run it, a configuration file and a updater, both very harmless files. There is no install required. For anyone interested, China is down 46-38 at the half. Yao Ming has 15 points (6-8), 6 rebounds, and a couple of blocks. His shot is looking very good. He made all his FG's in the first quarter, except a dunk attempt where he was fouled but no call was made. And he miss the last shot of the half, but other than that, he has looked great offensively. Aside from Yao's offensive abilities, what has impressed me is that he played all 20 minutes of the game so far, which is his 5th game in 6 days. His stamina does not seem to be too much of a problem anymore. Yao was the lone player to be on court the whole first half. I do have one funny observation from the game. Dikembe Mutombo's attitude of never admitting to a foul in his career seems to have rubbed off onYao. In the 2nd Quarter, Yao fouled Primo Brezec, but acted surprised by the call a la Mutombo. On the replay, it was obvious that Yao slapped Brezec on the arms. By being around Dikembe, Yao will also never have commited a foul in his NBA career. And let me just say that China's players need to learn to shoot. I would have thought that by being around a great shooter like Yao, it might rubbed on the other players, but no. They might be worst shooters than Keith Bogans.
CHINA WON!!!!!!! In the exciting final minute of the game, Yao made the tying shot, which was followed by a bucket by the Slovenia team. With 6 seconds to go, one of the Chinese guards went down the court and made a three as the clock ran out. China wins by one. I lost track and the FIBA site seems to be down at the moment, but I think Yao had something like 35 points, 10 rebounds, and maybe 4 blocks. What really impressed me was Yao being in the game for all 40 minutes. It shows how much he wanted to win the game. He did become less effective in the fourth quarter, when he started to miss some shots, and he lost about 3 rebounds that he should have gotten, but he did make the tying bucket. I guess this win means China advances to the next round. It will be exciting to follow Yao and China to see where they end up. Yao's play in these games have made me very optomistic about the Rockets this upcoming season. Maybe they can get past the second round.
OMG. Simply amazing. One word: wow. One of the best games I have seen in some time. To add to the summary of evolidiot --> the guard was Wang Shipeng ( i think i spelt that right) and Yao finished with 36pts, shooting 13-20 (65%) from the field, 10 rebs., 1 ast, 2 fouls, playing ALL 40 minutes! (I am uncertain how many blocks, but he had a 2 nice ones I recall).
This is kinda similar to the Olympics, where Yao promised China would advance. China lost the first three games and then came down to the last game to advance. Same thing this time around. Yao should definitely be the MVP of the tourney, either him or Carmelo.
Wow, I just came home and went on asia-basket.com and hoped to see China win and they did on the game winning shot!! Oh man, I can't wait to download the full game.
For those interseted, when China beat Slovenia, you would expect Slovenia to be knocked out of the tourney; but it seems that since Itlay beat Puerto Rico, now, Slovenia is in and Peurto Rico and Senegal are out.

Man yao is the Scoring leader in FIBA WC now. averaging 28.4 ppg. He's also 3rd in Rebound and 1st in Blocks. Pretty damn good for only averaging 32 Minutes per game.
