China becoming a naval power is a nightmare waiting to happen....they are quietly making a play for control of the Pacific Rim

Not sure my info is 100% accurate. Buyer beware.

The USA has had a working railgun for a while now. The problem is. The barrel warps after only a few rounds. Better metals need to be developed. Not sure China has found the answer.

I am more concerned with two new weapons Russia is developing. The first is reported to be near the end of testing, and will be deployed soon.

A nuclear capable missile that can fly hypersonic, 20-25 times the speed of sound. It is believed to be very maneuverable making it a very difficult target. It can carry multiple warheads.

The second weapon is a very large torpedo. It is powered by a small nuclear reactor making it very fast, it can travel very long distances, and submerge to 3,000 while doing it. It can carry a large nuclear weapon. Likely targets are aircraft carrier battle groups, and major cities along the coast.

We won't be around when China is ruling the world. Be glad because they will do a Thanos snap with the Earth (but it will be based on their social credit system)

umm, I am not understanding explanations I see for words used.
    Rail gun with a barrel"
A barrel is only necessary on a standard gun to confine the gas expansion behind the projectile as it gains velocity when accelerating through the tube. Why would "barrel be used absent the expanding gas technology? Where are the rails?

When you think of it, we had that since August 1945. They are very crafty and resourceful. They had survived all sorts of pagan invasions, and had been on the planet for thousands of years. We are so full of ourselves that we often forget they can control all we have because our asshole corporations sold out the US labor force to them. The rail gun was our idea but they can get anything they want.

Absolutely concerning. Wherever the nuke explosion occurs, it's the end for every one of us. Think of all the nuke testing done by countries and the effects on the weather, tectonic plates and so forth.
Lets thank the wonderful scientists at Los Alamos for creation and curse the jackass husband and wife team that sold the secret to the Russians. When the time comes, I hope to be out in the open so I and hopefully my family can be vaporized in the wake of the explosion.

Ok, my bad, let me clarify.

The rails are mounted inside the tube (I called a barrel). The mounting system is required for accurate aiming of the projectile.

Not sure why a tube or barrel is necessary? But a round shape has a lot of strength vs materials used.

They have achieved hypersonic projectile speeds using the railgun. But. At the high speeds, so much heat is generated it damages the rails inside the tube/barrel.

Nothing quiet about it and they already accomplished it on Obama's watch while he cowered in a corner doing nothing. He allowed them to build islands with military bases in international waters near shipping lanes and near allies of ours. He cut funding to our military's development and research programs.

He's put us in a position where nukes may be our only effective weapon against China and Russia, making a nuclear war more likely than ever before.

That began under Bush and Cheney...who started every war we have been fighting since..it was a big issue in the early 80s when I first moved back there....stop sensationalizing Trumps lies and making your false Obama fabrications...America doesn't "allow" China to do anything over there..they just do it and pretty much always have...see Tibet
