Wow! I'm quite excited about this!

    http://www.ninersnation.com/2016/5/...e-hand-signaled-tempo-system-is-a-lot-quicker

A couple of interesting points with the article:

I found this most interesting as well:

I think that last sentence in bold is an absolute MUST. And Bowman should have major say in that as well. He's one of the sharpest minds in the game. They need to give Kelly input that will keep the plays unpredictable.

    They will need to:
    1. Change the play signals each week
    2. Have an athletic offensive line capable of running the no-huddle system continuously

I like Kelly's system and think it has tremendous potential in changing the way teams play offensively. We'll see if he can achieve that with the 49ers.

Well said, I agree. Individually, I'm most eager to see this new RG rookie Joshua Garnett that we picked up in the 1st round, as well as how Gabbert does with Kelly as coach. Also eager to see if Hyde can stay healthy and how well he does with this new OLine.

My hope is that Chip bottles it at SF and has to come back Oregon. Mark Helfrich is going to ruin the Ducks. He may be the worst reciuiter among big school coaches I have ever seen. Whatever momentum they had is gone.

I love Chip so it's hard to root against him, but with a roster of 53... Half your offense is gonna be on the IR by week 11.

Bingo. How do you go up-tempo with no depth?

I swear the NFL is trying to create a league where everyone goes 7-9, 8-8, or 9-7.

Did you see the coaching staff completely fumble it with Ryan Kelley and are now fumbling to talk to every other qb still on the market besides the one that just decommitted to Texas A and M that's a package deal with one of the top wrs in the country, both of whom want to play here?

Eh, not so sure about that. We're more than fine at WR (something like 12 of them), and our OLine is greatly improved from FA and the Draft. Good depth at DB, and "okay" depth at DLine. My only concern is at ILB and maybe TE.

If they'd have offered that kid from Hawaii who pretty much begged to come here, they'd at least have had an out. But they never even offered and he went to Alabama. Every time I hear Helfrich talk about recruiting he talks about "the Oregon way," and if the players are "good guys." That might work at Harvard and Yale, but college recruiting is a scumbag game of 1000 dollar dropoffs and burner phones. Nobody gives a sh-t about your stinking facilities. Its what have you done for me lately! Brooks knew that. Belotti knew that. And Kelly certainly was willing to be the bad guy. But Helfrich seems to delegate responsibility to assistants who are more interested in their retirement benefits than than being competitive. Some assistants have been there since Ronald Reagan was president. Oregon football needs an enema before things will get better. It needs a whole new coaching philosophy.

We are about to become a basketball school the way things are going.

Why did Kelley opt out? I dont' follow recruiting at all because I find it extremely frustrating.

Scott Frost the guy recruiting him left and there was a lot of pressure for Kelly to stat home. But Helfrich was still in talking with him and following him on Twitter. But the guy couldnt sell a glass of water to someone dying of thirst.

Didn't know the 9ers hired him. I know there are a lot of Oregonians who consider the niners their team, many of whom are duck fans as well. I bet there were a lot of excited Oregonian Niners fans when that was announced.

Initially, I wasn't excited. I wanted Hue before he went to Cleveland. Or Shannihan, a Bill Walsh Disciple. Those were my two picks, and Kelly was far from it.

But I've since warmed up to him greatly. I believe now that the 9ers will do just fine under his leadership. It may take a couple of seasons until we're firmly in playoff contention, but I think it's possible that we could get 9 wins and a Wildcard spot this year.

I can't wait for the season to start!

I'm expecting 4-12, baalke being fired, top 5 pick, and respectability the year after.

Ya ya, I hear that shit all the time from all the Oregon band-wagon fans.. Been a Beav since I was old enough to know what it meant. Not many Oregon fans nowadays can say that of their team. They remind me of the GSW fans. They'll jump ship soon enough!

Why the hell do you think we'll do WORSE than last year? Sorry, but that's a pretty stupid prediction.

I want Baalke gone as much as everyone else, but not through the process of fucking up an entire season to do it.
