An MRI has revealed that Atlanta Braves third baseman Chipper Jones has a tear to the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee and is facing season-ending surgery, the team announced. "Chipper's injury is a loss for for us, no, question", said Braves GM Frank Wren when asked about Jones. Wren said the injury was described as a partial tear but there was no stability and it stretched out the ligament. "We were all optimitistic given his mobility and ability to get around the past couple of days." "Chipper's our big player," Wren said. "When you look at our club, the first guy you think about is Chipper Jones. His presence in our lineup has been increasing the past few months, he's a force for us." Jones injured his knee Tuesday night while making a play on a ball hit by Hunter Pence. He landed awkwardly on his knee and had to be helped off the field.
