Wayne Chrebet is retiring. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2467826 He had a great career - one of my favorite players to watch.
I have nothing but respect for wayne, he is/was seriously one of the toughest players in the NFL and at his size he was great, Never amazing numbers but he's a New York favorite.
My favorite Chrebet memory is the game between the Jets and the Bucs when Keyshawn Johnson said that he was a star and Wayne Chrebet was a flashlight. Keyshawn went out and had a miserable game with one catch for one yard and Chrebet caught the winning touchdown to bring the Jets' record to 4-0. Keyshawn got pwned!
Best Wishes to Chrebet. I enjoyed watching him play......except against the Dolphins. That, however, has to do with previous staff totally forgetting about him crucial situations.
he was a great player and very clutch hands...he joins troy aikman as player that would continue if he wouldnt get so many concussions...
i can't say enough about Wayne Chrebet he is one of my favorite players and i only have a few jerseys but i own his. Him going over the middle was so natural and just helped the Jets out so much he was a great reciever the great thing about him is his backstory... he was an undrafted free agent that was signed by the Jets out of Hofstra University where the Jets practice. On the first day of mini camp the security guard there almost didnt let him go in because he didnt think he was a football player cause of how he was built. Pretty amazing how a guy like that can become one of the most respected WRs in the league... hats off to Wayne for a great career

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (panthersare#1)</div><div class='quotemain'>He was a great 3rd down WR. That one hit he took last year looked pretty bad. Sad to see him go.</div> did u see how is head hit the turf??? my god after that there was this look of wtf on his face
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Steelerfan_2005)</div><div class='quotemain'>Now that Wayne Chrebet & Ricky Proehl are gone, that type of wide receiver is a dying breed.</div> We had one of those gutty, clutch players in Chris Walsh about 6-8 seasons ago. I still miss watching him play.

everyone appreciates a guy who puts their ass on the line every play and then gets up and does it again
If anyone ever sticks a gun to my head and tells me to put on a Jets' jersey, it had better be Wayne Chrebet, Curtis Martin or Joe Klecko. Otherwise, I'll probably pick the bullet.
what about Keyshawn Johnson people like him right? lol btw good choices... Jon Vilma is also a Jet that deserves respect from the rest of the league and he will soon
