Here's the scenario; K-Mart signs Denver's offer sheet, and the Nets don't match. You now have Martin, Camby and Nene all sharing duties at the four and the five. Who is the odd man out? Andersen, who I couldn't see being too keen to re-sign with the Nuggets with Nene taking his role as the first man off the bench to man both power spots. He would probably come quite cheaply, and it might be worth offering him a three or four year deal under the exception. His strengths are blocking shots and rebounding at both ends of the floor, and would give us at least an interior presence defensively. My only worry would be he's only played 10-15 minutes a game so far during his career, and we'd want him to at least play 20-25 a night, maybe more. Thoughts?
It sounds good for the sonics, but i think that the nets and nuggets are discussing a sign and trade deal, inwhich nene would be sent to the nets. Feel free to correct that if i'm wrong, but i'm pretty sure thats true. So they may in fact resign him, but i think that it wouldn't be too bad of an idea to get him. Shot blocking is a real good think to have, he would be quite a factor inside.
Not a bad idea. He can be a perfect guy coming off the bench. He could possibly be a starter if Collison goes under.
I had heard about the Nene and Martin sign and trade, and if it does happen like that I would bet my house on Denver convincing Andersen to stay. If not, it's something worth pursuing for the right price, IMO.
well nene didnt get traded they traded kmart for 3 future 1st rnd picks we still got hope to get chris anderson but he is weak at offense he always trys to dunk he just trys to look cool grabing on to the rim when theres no point even when he doesnt have the ball
Andersen could be a steal for whomever takes him if he leaves the Nuggets. He's a high energy player who brings it all everytime he's on the floor. We all know he has the athletic ability and hops. Just give him the minutes, and he can produce.

Chris Andersen would be a good player for the Sonics but not at a price anywhere close to the mid level exception. He is a journeyman power forward from the developmental league. He is very rangy, can block shots, and finishes well but if anyone watched any Nuggets games last season they would see that he was extremely limited offensively. Given that we already have an energy player in Reggie Evans I'm not sure that signing Chris Andersen should be a priority unless he is willing to except a small contract. We definitely need to make some moves, but signing Chris Andersen to a multi million dollar contract seems like a stretch. I'd love to have him if he came cheap (something similiar to Antonio Daniels contract).
Two years at around 3-4 million would be a reasonable deal I think. Nothing more, but I think he would be quite handy. Knowing management, if we targeted him we'd offer him a Booth-esque deal
