"Chris Cook can't catch a break.

The Minnesota Vikings rookie cornerback is expected to miss two weeks with a slight meniscus tear in his left knee, according to a person with knowledge of the situation. This is a separate injury from a meniscus tear in his right knee in an Aug. 28 preseason game against Seattle.

Cook, a second-round pick in the 2010 draft out of Virginia, was poised to start at right cornerback in the preseason before the first tear. He returned in time to play in the nickel package during a 24-10 victory over the Lions on Sept. 26. He recorded five tackles in that game.

The Vikings will head into Monday night's game against the Jets at the Meadowlands with four cornerbacks — Antoine Winfield, Cedric Griffin, Asher Allen and Lito Sheppard. "
