Chris Leben, 33, out of Portland, Oregon, announced his retirement from fighting today on The MMA Hour. Leben finishes with a career record of 22-11 with 12 knockouts and 5 submissions. Leben was an 11-1 fighter when he joined the cast of the original Ultimate Fighter in 2005 and is largely responsible for MMA becoming the mainstream sport it is in the United States today. Most of the competitors on the show have since retired. Leben will serve as a coach and trainer at Alliance in Chula Vista, CA, home of fellow UFC veterans Brandon Vera and Dominick Cruz.
