    <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Mihm's agent, Jeff Austin, told the Lakers his client is looking for the mid-level exception of $5.5 million.

    The Lakers think that is too much to pay for Mihm, who missed all of last season recovering from right ankle surgery and still was paid his $4.2 million salary.

    Mihm has been working out with Andrew Bynum at the team's practice facility in El Segundo, but the Lakers want to make sure he is healthy.

    Mihm played in just 59 games during the 2005-06 season and averaged a career-high 10.2 points. He was injured March 12, 2006, against Seattle and played in just one game after that, playing 14 minutes in the season finale.
    </div>

    Lakers were actually looking to re-sign him for $2 million a year, and not the $5.5 million he seems to be asking for. He missed all of last season, and only played 59 games two seasons ago.

    I'm one of the biggest Chris Mihm fans you'll ever meet and the first to point out that he was our second most consistent player behind Kobe 2 years ago. But he is NOT worth the full MLE.[IMG]

    Makes zero sense to use the MLE to re-sign Chris Mihm. I don't mind bringing Mihm back, but he needs to agree to less money so the Lakers can evaluate him for a season. The guy hasn't played basketball for a year and a half now. Asking for the MLE is wishful thinking on his agent's behalf.

    Couldn't have said it better myself. I've never been a Chris Mihm fan because of how moronic he is on the defensive end. Who the heck does he think he is asking for that much money after having been out that long?

    He's not kidding, Chris Mihm was seriously our second best player a couple of seasons ago. This was Lamar's 1st year under PJax, and he really struggled learning the offense.

    You shouldn't be commenting on the situation if you've got no clue what's going on.

    The season after we traded, Chris Mihm was our second best player the first half of the season. He was the most consistent thing we had outside of Kobeb Bryant. Caron struggled, Lamar struggled. Mihm was great for us.

    We should sign Mihm but if it cost us all of our MLE no way.We need to sign Blake first and then go after Mihm.

    I don't blame him for at least trying. He knows we have Bitch Kupcake as our GM.

    [IMG] so you think that Kupchack would be dumb enough to give Mihm the MLE. I hope that they agree to less money.

    I would be all for resigning Chris for the MLE if he was still playing as great as he did in the 05-06 season for us. At least we would be using our MLE for someone who actually contributed.

    Fact is, he didn't play all last season and I think he needs to play at least a season or two before the Lakers give him what he wants.

    I guess its time to let him go. I would love to see him back, but using the entire MLE this season on a player who has been injured all of last year would be a totally dumb move..

    Yes it would be a dumb move, but you've also got to think, who else would use their full MLE on Chris Mihm? [IMG]
