<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The Bobcats were Paul's first workout. He said he's scheduled to work out for Atlanta (which picks No. 2) and New Orleans (No. 4). The Hornets have talked about drafting a point guard at No. 4. As Bickerstaff met with reporters, Paul stood off to the side of the practice court and toweled off. Only the last few minutes of the workout were open to the media, but Paul looked sharp, hitting jumpers after repeatedly sprinting sideline-to-sideline. Paul said he's unsure of where he'll be drafted, but staying in North Carolina near his mother's home cooking sounded appetizing to him. "I've been in Winston-Salem for 20 years; it wouldn't hurt to be in North Carolina a little bit longer," Paul said. "They've got a great coaching staff here. I had the opportunity over the past year to come to a lot of games and see how they play. Coach Bickerstaff is a great coach, and I'd love the opportunity to play here." Paul averaged 15.3 points and 6.6 assists as a sophomore for the Demon Deacons last season. Only Okafor averaged more than 14 points (15.1) for the Bobcats and guard Brevin Knight more than five assists (9.0). Knight is 5 feet 10, and Paul is almost 6-0, but Bickerstaff said he isn't concerned about Paul's height. Paul said it was humorous that some may question his ability because of his height. "In Chicago [at a predraft camp], me and [Felton] were laughing because when we took the little test, I think I was 5 feet 11 3/4 and Raymond was 5-11 1/2," he said. "So it was kind of funny. But if you can go out there and play, I don't think it makes a whole lot of difference." Paul has been preparing for the NBA by working out in Washington, D.C. While in Washington, Paul said he's had the opportunity to work out with Washington Wizards guards Gilbert Arenas and Steve Blake -- giving him a taste of what the next level of basketball is like. "You have to be a lot more efficient [in the NBA]," he said. "That's what the Bobcats were teaching me today. In college, you might take six dribbles to get to the lane. But out here, you only use two or three."</div> Source
