Daniel Winnik made sure Chris Stewart's second career hat trick didn't go to waste.

Winnik scored with 2:20 left in regulation to give the Colorado Avalanche a 6-5 comeback victory over the Calgary Flames on Thursday night.

"It was a total team effort," said Stewart, who scored once in the first period and added goals 29 seconds apart in the second to tie it at 3. "It's great to see that we're getting scoring from [all] lines. It's just exciting to watch out there."

Stewart has eight goals and six assists in 10 games this season. He also had three goals last March against St. Louis.
