Full practice at that. This would be a huge boost if he could play. The Rangers would be crazy deep. Won't help with the defensive issues, but can help with scoring, and getting better matchups on ice to add a guy like Chytil into the mix. Safety and health first, but if he is at full practice on 4/12, maybe he could be ready for 4/20, or very early in round 1.

Filip Chytil surprises with Rangers practice return ahead of playoffs (nypost.com)

Filip Chytil skated in a regular jersey with the team for the first time since suffering a setback in his recovery from a suspected concussion in late January.

Wow, that's pretty shocking. Wonder who would come out for him in the playoffs, Brodzinski?

For the first time since being shut down in late January after a setback in his recovery process from an upper-body injury, Filip Chytil was back at Rangers practice on Friday after being medically cleared.

The center, who has played in just 10 games this season, had been working out on his own and wanted to skate with the team. The 24-year-old practiced without a non-contact jersey.

"He looks good out there," head coach Peter Laviolette told reporters, including Vince Z. Mercogliano, after practice. "There's no timetable on Fil. We're not going to rush him back. Whenever he feels and the eyes on him feel and the powers that be feel that he's in a good spot, that's a different story."

You would have to think one of the bottom 2 Cs would sit so either Wennberg or Goodrow. Flip a coin if you ask me. Maybe I'd prefer to have Goodrow out there as at least he plays with more of an edge than Wennberg. Wennberg just looks miserable on the ice at all times.

I would be shocked if they sat Wennberg. My guess would be Brod if Chytil could make his way back.

Isnt Chytil a center though? Brodzinski plays wing.

Yeah, but Goodrow plays both, so my guess is they would move him to wing with Wennberg and Vesey. I hope we get to see how this plays out though, because that means Chytil is back healthy and playing...:).

How effective is he going to be after missing the whole season. Very risky. This kid is one hit away from the retirement. I also think this is an intentional move to screw around with their opponents heads and potential matchups.

If we’re being serious do we really expect to see him in the playoffs after missing most of the season?

I think you very well may be correct. He is practicing, but will he really play, I think it's a coin flip at best. That is why I say I hope we get the chance to see who would sit for Chytil, because that means he is healthy and actually playing.

It is being reported that he is back on the ice practicing. The possibility exists that he is available for the playoffs. The longer the Rangers stay in the playoffs the more likely we are to see him out there. If I had to guess, I would say he is back by game 5 in Round 1 depending on where the series is at.
