now that the "pay Czar" is capping the executive pay @ $500k.

Kind of interesting actually, seems kind of shady that they are only willing to repay the money when their salaries are on the line. Kind of leads me to two thoughts:

    1. They didn't actually need it.
    2. If they did need it, they are putting their own earnings in front of the company.

It could also be that they're at risk of losing a number of groups who will bolt if their compensation from the high seven-figures or low-eight figures to a paltry $500K. Seriously, there are Sr. Associates out there who would be pissed to only make half a million for the work they put in and the profits they produced. Why not go someplace they can make money?

Hey man the TARP ain't closed until at the earliest 10/2010 that gives you plenty of time to pay the bonuses...and then ask for more money.
