I rembember 3 games that dame dont win (MISS THE LAST SHOT) for us this season. Vs Boston goes OT in the road, Vs Dallas in home, Vs Wolves last night. In this times, a easy bucket its all that matters... He made one for the win VS Denver on the road.

Before i start, i just wanna say im huge damian lillard fan, im always will be. But, i ask you guys ''what is our best safe shot?" I say Cj mid range jumper or floater (just like in win over dallas) Cj is close or better than DeRozan for MidRange. If we have 5 seconds or more, i preferer CJ have the ball. If we have 2 or 1 second, its catch and shoot i say Dame.

Last night dame and cj are ice cold. Dame wake up a little bit in the 4 quarter, and he should have that last shot because he was ''hot'' and leader of the team. I just wanna see CJ have more chances to close the games. CJ have 2 chances this year, 1 against detroit for the lead and one vs dallas. He made 1 and miss 1, and the game vs detroit he made 2 clutch's 3 to send to overtime twice.

Last night is was a terrible loss for us. Its really hurst me.

So... Should CJ have more chances to win the games?

I agree, the reason we've lost all of our games is because of Lillard. I don't understand why Lillard insists on missing shots when it's obvious that if he makes all of them we will win. CJ gets this, that's why he never misses.

Lillard's trade value has never been higher after him winning western player of the month.
Portland needs to shut him down and start tanking. Then trade him in the off-season because Lillard hurts this team more than he helps.

    @SlyPokerDog
Whatdayaknow another stupid ass thread after Portland loses on how Lillard sucks.
It's why all games are must wins. So my eyes don't burn from threads like these.

Nine times out of 10 Dame hits that wide open shot. He missed it last night. He won't miss the next nine in a row.

Westbrook proves that even if you average a triple double, people will still find something to complain about.

I think Wayne Gretzky said it best,

"You miss 100% of the shots you miss."

@SlyPokerDog Im not say that... I dont say we lost because of him, how many games we win just because of him? Im very grateful for what he's done for the team. Im just saying, the point here is to discuss who deserve the last shot. CJ is one of the leader FG made, so i think we have a point here.

Bruno, I thought that was a nice polite well-reasoned post (and I wish I could say that about all of the responses). You even said that in last night's situation that it was right for Lillard to take the last shot. You made a good argument that a CJ midrange shot might be our best choice (if we only need 2 points), and that we should give him more chances.

We've all seen Lillard feed the ball to CJ when he gets hot. CJ wasn't hot last night.

Neither of them were, but Lillard had been heating up so I think he was clearly the better option for the last shot.

I like getting the ball to CJ for the final shot, but not with only 5 seconds left. I think Dame is the better option in that situation. He is quicker and can get to his spot faster. When rushed, CJ often has handle and footing issues.

At least Dame did not settle for a 3 last night. That I can't stand. So it was a step in the right direction. Obviously not having Nurk in there as at least a decoy..... hurt.

The thing about Dame is that he's literally a threat from anywhere on the court once he crosses the half court line. He can shoot from anywhere, so he's more difficult to defend. With that said, he's also a great decoy.

All the OP is asking why can't Cj shoot it? He has a legitimate point

Give Cj the damn ball he's shooting almost 50-40-90 this year

He wasn't shooting 50-40-90 last night. That was the point.

That shot was in and out and he had hit like 3 straight in the 2 mins prior after a cold night. And he had the defender on his heels and it's a look he puts down more times than not.

As someone who often criticizes Dame for his shot selection, I have 0 problem with that look. Just didn't go in-- much like it hasn't for our whole team all year. We've been on the opposite end quite a bit though.

We got a great shot for Lillard, open in the midrange. CJ had been cold all night, i'm not sure why people are mad about the shot.
