<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">In the second quarter, Claxton easily drove around Mavericks rookie Devin Harris for a layup before getting fouled. "Realistically right now, I know only like three or four plays," Claxton said. "It might take the entire season to get a better grasp of the offense. It's my first time running any offense like this, but it's a good learning experience." After two games, Scott said he is convinced that Claxton can become a key contributor. In his debut Sunday night against the Denver Nuggets at New Orleans Arena, Claxton played 23 minutes and scored five points and had eight assists. "He understands how to play. It's putting a guy out there who has been in the league for four or five years," Scott said. "I love his quickness, because we want to push the ball, and he made great decisions." Claxton won't be able to participate in his first practice until Wednesday, because the Hornets have today off. WAIVE GOODBYE: The Hornets are expected to waive forward Dale Davis today. Davis was obtained in the trade with Golden State, which included Claxton, in exchange for disgruntled point guard Baron Davis. A settlement agreement to buy out the remainder of his $10.1 million contract was reached between the Hornets and Dale Davis. He could sign today with the Detroit Pistons or Indiana Pacers. </div> Source
Yeah he was a good player with a great attitude. His only knock is size, injuries, and having that court sense and decision making to drop the ball at the last moment. He puts his head down too much. Overall, he's pretty much as quick as guys like TJ Ford or Sebastian Telfair and can finish inside despite his lack of bulk. He's strong and has great hops, handles, and footwork (He can actually dunk).
