NEW YORK -- Roger Clemens was removed from the New York Yankees' division series roster Monday under a new rule this year and replaced by left-handed reliever Ron Villone.
Clemens re-injured a hamstring Sunday and left in the third inning of New York's 8-4 win over the Cleveland Indians.
Under the new rule, Clemens is now ineligible for the AL championship series if the Yankees advance. The Rocket could return to the roster if New York reached the World Series.
http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/playoffs2007...tory?id=3054742

It was sad seeing Clemens leave the mound last night. Probably his last game ever, but at least the Yankees won the game and Clemens went out blazing. Something was definitely wrong with his throwing motion and they were speculating his elbow is damaged. I'd love to see him pitch one more time for the World Series, but the Yankees have a lot of work to get done before that ever happens. It's going to be tough beating CC and Carmona back to back.
