Doesn't matter to me really. Their both good teams that can give us a run. The west is stacked top to bottom. No one is having a walkthrough.
Grizzlies limit themselves to 88 PPG, and give up 89 PPG. Super defense, but Mavs could really give Memphis a run for their life by letting The German Bomber riding on The Jet.As for Los Angeles, you're looking at a team that is having its best record since a time when its name wasn't even the Los Angeles Clippers. This team hasn't really done any playoff damage, but then again, Sam Cassell is a clutch 4th quarter guy, and is a contributor in the playoffs, except obviously when he was injured during Minnesota's Western Conference run.If the Lakers are against the Mavs, look out for Kobe, but we just need Griffin to take him over, as well as Howard. There is proof they both can.Mavericks need to avoid Sacramento, because if Dirk is shut down by Artest, that would seriously suck...BIGGEST POINT OF ALL:Lots of people say it doesn't matter, but if the Spuirs-Mavericks series goes down to a game seven, Hell, it sure DOES matter.
Most of the time it doesn't go 7 games. It usually is 6 games but you are right that home court matters in a 7th game.

The concensus is if Mavs don't get homecourt over Spurs, we won't win.And honestly first round matchup, Kings, Lakers, Clips, Grizz, no one worries me as we should be able to win in a 7 game series. No one should worry about the Lakers because of Kobe. One person can't beat a whole team in 7 games. Artest has not really bothered Dirk as much as Marion and Bowen has done. He handled himself well against the Kings and Pacers earlier in the year.
Dude, being a 1st Seed also gives Dallas lots of hope they can win it all.4th Seed would basically say that they still can't pass the Spurs...

I say the last team the Mavs want to play is the Kings. The other 3 teams Dallas should be able to handle.
But Bibby could become a beast, couldn't he?I think Dallas has to sweep every team, anyway. These four possibilities are not TOOOO hard.Anybody thing Utah can still play Dallas if Dallas gets 1st?

I see no sweep in the first round. The teams are stacked from top to bottom. And Utah seems out of it, unless they can sneak up on Kings/Lakers.
Good points, man.Dude, seriously, though, Mavs need to forget about injuries and let Dirk, Jet, Stack, and Daniels be the main offensive players.Mainly Dirk and Jet, and Stackhouse in the 2nd and 3rd quarters.
The mavs need to get Daniels more involved in their offensive scheme. I prefer him getting the ball over Stackhouse.
Well, Marquis is a nice player, but as of late, his careless ball-handling problems have really shaken me up.I know I love Dirk, but he's the guy who needs the ball the most. The rest of the guys are obviously nice players, but Dirk is the leader of this team, and has been on a tear this month.Stackhouse is on a perimeter cold streak, Daniels has been turning it over, Terry probably lost some self-esteem with that missed free throw...but Dirk...this month...30.1 PPG9.9 RPG3.5 APG.925 FT%.442 3FG%.496 FG%40.4 MPG
I think 14 games of being on a cold streak is almost time to label him as a bad shooter. Right now it is a 2 man team. Dirk and Terry. Daniels hasn't been great lately but better than Stackhouse. I have nothing against Stackhouse but his game which is killing Dallas as of late. I am against poor shooters I guess.
But hey, man, he DOES bring depth to the team, and he CAN come up clutch, if you think back to the Celtics-Mavs game. One thing he CAN do, though, is get to the line and drain free throws. Dirk and Stack are both Top 20 Percentages in Free Throws...
Still even if Stack is in a shooting slump, I think half the teams in the league would like to have an off Stack as their 3rd or 4th scoring option, and top that off with KVH as their 5th option, and we're in good shape.I really think we need to get Howard back, and him along with Harris and Daniels will have to come up big in the playoffs.
Dude, Van Horn played 12 minutes played yesterday against Atlanta. He said he was a little uncomfortable playing 5-on-5 for the first time in three weeks. He was scoreless by going 0-2, but at least he IS here, right?Except to see Van Horn and Dirk play together.
As long as Van Horn is playing SF with Dirk at PF I'm ok. When Van Horn and Dirk are at PF and C that is a huge liability on defense and rebounding.
Yeah, Dirk should stay in his position. But if we DO go against the Clippers, we'll need to shut-down Sam Cassell, and not let Elton Brand get too huge of a game.Last time I checked, Elton Brand isn't the SUPER-FAST center kind of guy, and if Brand ends up guarding Dirk, it'll be like what happened with Miller guarded Dirk (Dirk either drew the foul or drove RIIIIGHT past Miller in an instant), and if it's Kaman, Dirk'll have a GREAT time backing down on him for a trey.
Brand is a PF. Im not sure, but I dont think Dunleavy plays small ball. Dirk has always matched with Brand
