Powell Signs With Clippers

Quote:

Aug 15 - The Clippers signed free-agent forward Josh Powell, 23, to bolster the team's front-court roster in the aftermath of Elton Brand's Achilles' tendon injury this month. Terms were not disclosed.

As a Mavs fan all I ever heard was that this guy was full of potential, but I rarely saw it because he never got in the game. But nonetheless he's a big body that might be an okay backup for Al Thornton.

I'm kind of confused why they didn't go after a better backup PF though like perhaps Alexander Johnson. That'd make 3 FSU players on the roster.

I'm a die-hard Al Thornton fan and when i found out he got drafted by the Clippers I was worried he'd never play behind Elton Brand. But now that Elton Brand is hurt and there not getting any starter-calibur replacements with signings like these.

Don't sleep on Big Al. The Dude's seriously a freak of nature and could possibly take over if Brand opts out next season.

He has the ability to play a 3, but i see him more of a quick 4. Kind of how Shawn Marion is used. Not saying his that talent level, just making a comaprison
