The thinking behind dealing Maggette is that Donald Sterling will be more willing to spend the money to re-sign Sam Cassell and Vladimir Radmanovic if Maggette's salary is shed.</div>

so now it looks like they want an adam morrison or rudy gay someone to fill the void when he leaves. it really sucks they didnt get artest because he would be great here. but i dont think they will get a 1 or 2 pick for corey because hes injury prone

If the Clippers get Chicago's 1st round pick for Maggette that would be great. I'd love to see Adam Morrison or Rudy Gay play in a Clippers uniform. And even if the pick goes any lower Brandon Roy or Rodney Carney would be adequate replacements for Maggette. Cory might get injured very soon which could leave the Clippers in a difficult place because Maggette is very good at getting to the line and those extra points count for alot in the long run of a game.

Does the team really need youth though? Right now there is actually no positional need on the team except for maybe SF, but it's not so much a need.

I like Maggette though, he's been one of the big reasons the Clippers took care of the Nuggets so quickly, averaging 17 ppg off the bench, only 0.8 ppg scoring below Brand. He is the man that gets the Clippers going during cold stretches, and adds endless energy and hustle. Plus, he's good friends with Brand.

I guess the Clippers won't hurt too bad without Maggette, but you know, you gotta love him, even with all those injuries.

i loved Maggette its unfortunate that he has had many injuries..I always see him as a hard working player who can take the contact....he comes through in the stretch...a great guy to have...but drafting a guy wouldnt be bad either..plus its cheaper...so i can go both ways...i DO want to see Corey succeed again and he can do that in the East

Last year the Clippers drafted Korolev, they want to groom him into becoming the future PG for the ball club. This move might also indicate they plan on re-signing Radman because he fit well with the core of this team.

I've always been a fan of CMaggs, injuries have hurt him, but I love his reckless drives to the hoop to draw the And 1.

The Clippers should find a suitor for CMaggs, he has a reasonable contract and can help a young team by becoming the go to scorer. Boston's always liked Maggette, and they don't really need their draft pick. Could be a move for both teams. I'm pretty sure the Clippers will send him East if they do end up trading him.

Future PG or future SF? I'm pretty sure Shaun is the future PG.

^We don't really need a SF that much though. We need to keep our pick and draft a big man.

The only management I can see trading a lottery pick for Maggette is the Atlanta Hawks. No body else in the lottery would/should aggressively pursue him other than maybe the bobcats, but I doubt they give up a top 5 selection for Maggette.

Atlanta already has a logjam at sf. He'd fit in well with the Bulls or Lakers, as both need a legit sf.

now I'm not sure how high of a draft pick the Clippers want. But he would be the perfect fit in ORLANDO!!! He's the perfect wingman they've been looking for since T-Mac left.
Maybe Orlando could give up Grant Hill and a draft pick for Cmaggz

Move Odom to his natural position at pf (like he's doing now). Walton is not a starter in this league.
