Clips wont match Clippers Issue Statement on Lamar Odom The Clippers today issued the following statement from Vice President of Basketball Operations Elgin Baylor: ?After long and careful consideration, we have elected not to match the offer sheet presented to us by Lamar Odom. In the final analysis, the decision was based on issues of character and other risks involved.? http://www.nba.com/clippers/
This is terrible for the Clippers...and bad for Heat IF...Odom keeps getting injuried like he has done....what has he missed...80 odd games in two years? that contract is too big anyway but if he gets injuried or doesn't live up to the Heat's expections..It could be a HUGE mistake but never the less...If he does play to his talents then he could make the Heat a good team again...He can play alot of spots on the floor and alot say the most all-rounded player since Magic..
its a nice gamble for the heat, damn i cant wait till odom-lebron battle, ill be in the front row when they come to mia
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting slamduncan21:</div><div class="quote_post">Now Rile's is stuck with Odom's huge contact. I think he's losing it.</div> I agree 100%. Riley completely overpaid for Odom. It's disgusting how Odom has dealt with the situation. The Clippers bent over backwards and supported this guy dispite his lack of commitment and his drug problems. Odom is the epitome of a selfish player, who thinks he is owed something by everyone because of his potential. He doesn't understand the concept of EARNING respect, and I hope he gets caught up in the South Beach Miami lifestyle and gets busted with his face in a pile of cocaine a la Scarface. At only 23, he's definately going to be overwhelmed by the clubs, the girls, and the endless supply of drugs in Miami. I can't wait for Odumb to comeback to L.A. and gets booed everytime he touches the ball.
Odom got waaaaay too much money. He doesn't deserve any of it, I agree. The Clippers fans should be furious with Odom. I know I would hate him if he played for my team and did that ish. I thought Riles was a smarter coach than that...taking on a druggie, high turnover, low fg% player doesn't seem the way to go for a struggling franchise. :thumbsdow
